Our commitment
Eagle Customizer is made by Twin Eagle Studio around a simple principle: your input belongs to you. We do not collect, sell, or analyze your device activity.
Information the app collects
None. Eagle Customizer has no analytics, telemetry, advertising SDKs, or user accounts. We cannot see which devices you connect, which actions you assign, or how you use the app.
How device input is used
Mouse clicks, keystrokes, and audio-device controls are read only to apply your mappings in real time. While the app window is open, mouse button presses are also shown in it so you can see which button you pressed; keyboard keys are never shown or passed to the window. All of this happens entirely on your computer — on Linux, the remapping engine runs with no network access at all. Input data is never recorded or transmitted.
Updates
Eagle Customizer can check our website once a day for a newer version. This request downloads a small file (version.json) and sends only standard connection information: your IP address and an app identifier such as “EagleCustomizer/1.0.11 (Linux)”. No mouse, keyboard, device, or personal data is sent. You can turn this off in the app menu: Check for updates automatically. On Linux, if you choose to install an update, the package and its checksum file are downloaded from our public release page on GitHub, which receives the same standard connection information under GitHub’s own privacy policy. The portable Windows version never downloads updates itself: it only opens the Download page in your browser.Microsoft Store version: If you installed Eagle Customizer from the Microsoft Store, the app does not check our website for updates. Updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store, which processes data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Local files
Your device names, mappings, preferences, and theme choice are saved in a configuration file on your computer: ~/.config/eaglecustomizer/config.json on Linux, or in the .config\eaglecustomizer folder of your user profile on Windows. If something goes wrong, a short error log (error.log) is kept in the same folder; it contains error messages only, never your mouse or keyboard input. On Linux, update packages you download are kept in ~/.cache/eaglecustomizer/updates until the next update replaces them. On Windows, the app does not download update files. These files never leave your computer. Uninstalling the app does not remove them automatically — you can delete those folders at any time.
Website, feedback and cookies
This website does not use analytics, fingerprinting, advertising, or tracking pixels. It uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie and a security token that protect the forms (the session is encrypted, stored only in your browser, and expires after about two hours), and a cookie that remembers your light or dark theme choice. We count how many times each download link is used; to avoid counting a double click twice, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser is kept for one hour and then deleted — only the total number is stored. Download files are served from our public release page on GitHub, which receives standard connection information under GitHub’s own privacy policy. Standard server logs may briefly contain technical request information, including update checks, for security and reliability. If you send us feedback or a message, we store what you submit (your message, rating, the page you sent it from, and your name and email address, if you give them) so we can read and reply to it. We do not share it with anyone, apart from the hosting providers that run this website and its database for us.
